Clonmel Celtic A and B teams are through to the Tipperary Cup quarter finals after comfortable wins over the weekend.
Mike Cooper (pictured) hit a hat trick for the B team as they beat Killenaule Rovers 6-0 at Ferryhouse on Sunday. The visitor's cause wasn't helped when they had a player red carded after only 13 minutes. Celtic made the most of the man advantage and goals from Cillian O'Brien and Mike Cooper had them 2-0 to the good at the break. Celtic continued their domination in the second half with Mike Cooper completing his hat trick and there were also goals for Dylan Kiely and Davy Garrett.
The A team also advanced after a 4-2 win away to second division side St Nicholas. Celtic dominated the early stages and a Niall Prendergast header had them 1-0 up at the break. The home side had a great chance to equalise in the second half but failed to take it and were immediately punished as goals from Darren Sweeney and a penalty from Ayo Williams put Celtic beyond reach. Brendan Collins pulled a goal back for St Nicholas but Niall Prendergast got his second of the day to restore Celtic's three goal lead. Jason Sutton scored late on for the home side to see Celtic leave 4-2 winners.
