Sean Brown underlined what an important signing he is proving to be with a brace that saw Clonmel Celtic come from behind to beat Tipperary Town 2-1 yesterday. Celtic have had a good run of cup wins lately but it was important that they got points on the board in the league as they had lost their last two outings. There was fears that this could be three leagues defeats in a row when Caleb Hickey volleyed the home side ahead. However Celtic fought back dominating the last thirty minutes with the impressive Sean Brown netting twice as Celtic went home with three welcome points.
Meanwhile earlier in the day the interim B team management duo gave their chances of landing the job on a permanent basis a boost after overcoming League Three leaders Ballingarry Albion to advance to the semi final of the Peter O'Reilly Cup. After an impressive start to the season the B team's form of late has been poor but hopefully this fighting performance might kick start another good run. John Pollard headed the visitors ahead on the hour mark but deep into injury time Davy Garrett headed home an equaliser that took the game to extra time with Celtic B eventually prevailing 5-4 on penalties.
