Clonmel Celtic put a recent run of poor results against Clonmel Town behind them as they prevailed 1-0 in a dour struggle at the Complex yesterday. The visitors started the brighter with Seanie Hawkins and Darren Sweeney coming very close in the early stages. The home side settled as the half progressed and began asking questions of Celtic and came very close on two occasions themselves. The game was ultimatley decided by a quality move from Celtic that sliced open the Town rearguard as a slick move up the centre ended with a perfect pass from Cian O'Sullivan that was expertly finished by Philip Drohan. Town threw everything at Celtic in the second half as they searched an equlaiser and were denied by the crossbar on one occasion. Probably not a game that will live long in the memory but it maintains Celtic's perfect start to the season with three wins from three and no goals conceded.
