Clonmel Celtic completed their season on Wednesday night with a 4-0 home defeat to St Michaels. Celtic finish the season in 5th place in the TSDL Premier League. If the main objective this season was consolidation after promotion last season it was a case of mission accomplished as Celtic never really looked in trouble at any stage of the season and had their Premier status secured by the turn of the year. Performances did drop off after Christmas which was disappointing as they had a good first half of the season. Hopefully Celtic can build and progress a step further next year. As for the game itself the visitors had it wrapped up by half time as they lead 3-0. After Julian Kerton and Seanie Hawkins came close for Celtic in the opening 20 minutes Colin Bargary put St Michaels 1-0 up on 28 minutes and further goals from Chris Higgins and Russell Quirke had them in control at the break. It was always going to be difficult to match the intensity of a side who have been playing some huge games in recent weeks. Both sides made plenty of changes in the second half and the only real indicent of note was Rhys Byron scoring a fourth in the 82nd minute.
