Clonmel Celtic still have some work to do in the New Year to ensure their return to the TSDL Premier League have been a successful one. Though they can be reasonably pleased with their points tally going in to the Christmas break they will need to add to their current tally to guarantee they will be playing Premier football next season. It looked for a while on Saturday they could round off 2022 with a win when they lead 1-0 at the break away to St Michaels on Saturday with Darren Sweeney applying a neat finish to give Celtic an early lead. The home side no doubt cognisant of the serious threat posed by Peake Villa this season came back strongly in the second half. Their cause was no doubt helped when Celtic were reduced to 10 men and in the end they ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.
