Clonmel Celtic are in the Division 1 Shield Final again after a 3-1 win against St Michaels B on Friday night. The sides finished 1-1 last week but after Celtic won the penalty shoot out the Tipp side objected and the game had to be replayed. It looked as if St Michaels were going to take full advantage of the second opportunity the League gave them when Danny O’Brien put them ahead. Indeed the visitors had a couple of chances to increase their lead before the break but failed to take them. An under strength Celtic made them pay with Mark Heffernan equalising to leave the score 1-1 at half time. St Michaels missed a chance to regain the lead when they missed a penalty early in the second half and an improving Clonmel Celtic got on top and goals from Jack Purcell and Rory O’Dowd saw them run out deserving 3-1 winners.
