Both Clonmel Celtic A and B will contest Shield finals in their respective divisions.
The A team qualified for the Division 1 Shield final with a penalty shoot out win against St Michaels B after the game finished 1-1. Celtic had the better of the first half with Sean Hawkins coming close to giving them the lead just before the break. Midway through the second half against the run of play the visitors went ahead went Donagh Hickey headed home. Celtic missed a penalty with 10 minutes remaining but with five minutes remaining Darren Sweeney equalised to force extra time. The game eventually went to penalties with Celtic prevailing 4-3. Some big games coming in May and Celtic know they will have to up their performance,
Meanwhile the B team have set up a repeat of last year's Shield Final against St Nicholas after they beat Cashel Town B 3-1 yesterday with goals from Alex Ryan, Shane Mullen and Ross Condon.
