There's plenty still yet to play for as we head into May as Clonmel Celtic's latest victory, 2-0 against Tipperary Town, sees them advance to the Division 1 Shield semi final. Celtic were good value for this win though they had to wait until the 30th minute to take the lead when Sean Hawkins headed home (pictured) at the far post after an excellent cross from Darren Sweeney. Celtic made the game save on the hour mark when a sweetly struck effort from Rory O'Dowd found the far corner. In fairness to Tipperary Town they never threw in the towel and battled until the end but Celtic held firm with Cian O'Sullivan at the heart of defence and David Cashin in goal particularly impressive.
Earlier in the day there was disappointment for a depleted Clonmel Celtic U16 side who went down 2-0 to St Kevins.
