Clonmel Celtic continued their ongoing rivalry with Mullinahone today in Div 2 shield 1/4 final. Conditions were perfect for football with the sun shining and the bypass surface immaculate. It was Celtic who started very fast and were ahead inside 7 mins when they pressed hard in the middle of the park to set Shane Mullen free on goal and he made absolutely no mistake with the finish. Celtic continued to dominate possession and on 22 mins they beat the Mullinahone press with Jason Hahessy confidently bringing it out from right full slipping in Ross Condon on the right wing who’s deep cross to the back post was met by a massive leaping header from Damon Gregory to power home number 2. It was 3-0 on 31 mins when Gregory got his second reacting quickest in the box to smash the ball home. The second half celtic looked to sit back and hold what they have and saw out the game quiet comfortably in the end to move into the semi final.
