Clonmel Celtic U13s made the perfect start to the season with a 2-0 derby win against Clonmel Town last Friday night. It was a great performance by the boys goals from Kuba Jaworksi (pictured/file) and Sean Woods had Celtic 2-0 to the good at the break. The second half was all about protecting what they had and Celtic did this admirably with Adam Linnard putting in a man of the match performance.
Our Under 15s apid the price for a very slow start as they went down 3-2 to Shanbally Utd on Saturday morning. It was a nightmare beginning for the U15s who were short some key players as they found themselves 3-0 down after just 10 minutes. They did manage to pull one back before the break with Jamie Brunnock rising highest to head home a Jack Boland corner. Celtic then went down to 10 men early in the second half making a tough task all the more harder. However despite this Celtic were the better team for much of the second half and a great goal from Oisin O'Malley brought them right back into the game with 10 minutes left on the clock. However despite their efforts they just couldn't find an equaliser but the character display by the boys chasing the game with give them great heart going into their next game.
