Ladies edged out by Holy Cross
After a couple of successful outings in the Munster Junior Cup Clonmel Celtic Ladies tasted defeat for the first time in 2022 when they went down 2-1 to Holy Cross in the Tipperary Ladies Shield. Holycross lead at half time from a excellent goal from Ellie Maher but a defensive mix up early in the second half allowed Emma Guinane level for Celtic. With 15 minutes remaining Holy Cross went ahead again with a fine finish from Kim Ryan. Celtic who were missing some key players threw caution to the wind and attacked at every opportunity but to no avail as the Holycross rearguard held firm to secure the win.
