An understrength and out of form Clonmel Celtic B team had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw away to Cashel Town B today. Paul Kelly gave Celtic the perfect start with a goal after 3 minutes but Cashel were level just eight minutes later. Celtic B had a lot of possession without creating any real chances and indeed in the end were grateful for the point after Cashel missed a second half penalty.
Clonmel Celtic Youth's title challenge took a blow as they went down 2-1 to Galbally Utd at Celtic Park yesterday. In fairness it was a decent performance from a young Celtic team coming up against a team who are having a very good season. Indeed Celtic started the brighter and were rewarded on 15 minutes with a fine strike from the edge of the by Shane Bennett after great play from Oisin O'Shea. The visitors found their feet and began to threaten and were level on 30 minutes when Owen O'Sullivan powerfully headed home a corner and the first half finished 1-1. Galbally got on top in the second half and on 65 minutes Owen O'Sullivan took advantage of a defensive error to slot home and put the visitors ahead. Celtic rallied late on but couldn't force an equaliser.
