Clonmel Celtic gained promotion back to the TSDL Premier Division after a convincing 5-0 win away to Peake Villa B yesterday. Needing just one win from their last two games Celtic wasted no time in reaching their target flying into a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes in Thurles yesterday. Rory O'Dowd got Celtic up and running with a fine finish to the top corner after 10 minutes. Celtic doubled their lead three minutes later when Darren Sweeney slotted home after poor defending. Four minutes later Peter O'Dowd took advatange of a defensive mistake to make it 3-0. Peter O'Dowd then fired home a fine free kick on 23 minutes as there was no let up from Celtic and Darren Sweeney got his second just before the break after good work from Sean Hawkins. The second half was a non event with Celtic going through the motions and confortably keeping a cleansheet. Congratulations to Kenny, Eddy and the squad for ensuring their stay in Division 1 was brief one.
