What a perfect time to score a hat trick! Celtic Under 14 striker Alex Richter (pictured) scored three second half goals as Clonmel Celtic won the Division 3 Cup Final in Cahir yesterday with a resounding 5-0 win against Moyglass Utd. The fact that Moyglass had already beaten Celtic twice to win the league makes this result all the more impressive. The first 15 minutes of the game was very competitive with Moyglass missing some chances to take an early lead. However, not for the first time this season, Jack Aylward got on the ball midway through the first half and hit a long range effort to break the deadlock. Things got better for Celtic just before the break when Jack Boland stabbed home from close range from a corner to see Celtic lead 2-0 at the break. Moyglass made a strong start to the second half but Celtic stood up to the challenge and then Alex Richter took over. Fifteen minutes into the second half he scored the first of this three goals and the second and third quickly followed to cap a superb individual performance. All 15 players put in tremendous performances but a special mention to Celtic keeper Bobby Hogan for a few outstanding saves and a very assured performance overall. It was also nice to see Cialean O'Dea in the dug out who hopefully will be back from injury in the new year. Finally a special mention to John and Paudie for their time and efforts this year. Two very popular coaches with the players and parents and they can be well satisified with yesterday's performance from the boys.
