Clonmel Celtic's title hopes took a blow as they were beaten 3-0 by Peake Villa in Ferryhouse on Saturday. A young Celtic side gave as good as the got against Villa who are riding high in the Youths Premier League. In fact Celtic probably had the better of the first half with Alex Greene and Julian Kerton both coming close as the first half ended scoreless. However as often happens against good teams if you don't take your chances you normally pay the price and that was the case in the second half. Defensive errors have proved costly for Celtic this season and a defensive error on 50 minutes saw Michael McCarthy put Villa 1-0 up. Before Celtic had a chance to recover McCarthy scored again on 59 minutes to put daylight between the sides. Celtic battled away gamely but Villa broke and sealed the game on 75 minutes when Siya Nozigani made it 3-0.
