What a day for Clonmel Celtic Ladies in Cahir yesterday. After winning the South Tipp League a few weeks back they went all the way yesterday and became County Champions for the first time with a thrilling 4-3 win against Tipperary Ladies. Celtic made a blistering start and were 3-0 up after 20 minutes with goals from Roisin McGrath (10mins), Niamh Mackey (13 mins) and Evrena Everard (20 minutes). Tipp Ladies pulled a goal back before half time to give themselves some hope. In fairness to Tipperary they came storming back in the second half and goals in the 48 and 75 minutes had them level. Just when it seemed the title was slipping away from Celtic Roisin McGrath stepped up with 7 minuted left to score what proved the winner and seal an historic victory. Well done Jacinta, Valerie and all the girls on a magnificent victory.
