Two stunning goals were the highlights of Clonmel Celtic's 3-0 win against Clonmel Town B in the Tipperary Cup Round 1 on Sunday. A sublime volley by Peter O'Dowd from Sean Hawkins cross put Celtic a goal up on 15 minutes. This was eclipsed by Niall Prendergast's ferocious effort in the second half that put Celtic 3-0 up. Two cracking goals you wouldn't have seen bettered anywhere this weekend. Sandwiched between these was Peter O'Dowd's free kick that crept under the Town keeper in the first half as Celtic had a comfortable 3-0 win to progress to Round 2.
Celtic B will join them in Round 2 but they were pushed all the way by third division side Donohill with an extra time goal from Davy Grace proving decisive. Shane Mullen had earlier scored for Celtic who eventually prevailed 2-1 after extra time.
Clonmel Celtic Youth's miserable run continues as they slumped to a 3-0 home defeat to Bansha Celtic in the Division 2 Youth Cup semi final on Saturday.
