Having recently been crowned South Tipperary champions Clonmel Celtic Ladies will now contest the Tipperary League final after an impressive 8-1 win against BT Harps yesterday. Celtic were fast out of the blocks in a keenly contested opening quarter. The home side hit the front on 12 minutes with a clever lob from Megan Shanahan. Shortly after they doubled their lead following a fine move as Niamh Mackey got on the end of a Roisin McGrath crossfield pass to slot home. Celtic continued to press and Emily Corcoran showed the instincts of a predatory stiker when she fired home a loose ball from close range. Celtic more or less wrapped the game up by the break as Megan Shanahan fired home a free kick to leave Celtic Ladies 4-0 to the good at the break. It was much the same pattern after the break though credit to BT Harps who kept fighting and were rewarded with a goal. Niamh Mackey, Emily Corcoran, Roisin McGrath all scored again in the second half as Celtic ran out impressive 8-1 winners.
