Clonmel Celtic U14s were involved in a thriller in Ferryhouse on Friday night but came out the wrong side of a 6-4 scoreline in their season opener against Moyglass Utd. Celtic were fast out of the blocks and goals from Alex Richter and Niko Ciesnik had them 2-0 up. The visitors scored before the break to leave it 2-1 at half time. Two quick goals on the restart had Celtic behind and things didn't look good when they found themselves 4-2 down. However they showed great resilience and fought their way back into the contest and a lovely finish from Preston Vickers and an amazing and long range screamer from Alex Richter had Celtic level at 4-4. Celtic them went ahead but a close offside call ruled the goal out. Celtic conceded from a set peice to fall behind again and Moyglass made the game safe with a sixth just before the finish. All in all a great effort from the boys that should stand to them going forward.
