Early goals from Senan Butler and Alex Greene (pic/file) helped Clonmel Celtic Under 15s continue their good start to the season as they won 2-0 away to Cashel Town on Saturday morning. A depleted squad numbers wise, travelled to Cashel on Saturday morning for this U15 game. We were 1-0 up after 50 seconds after Senan Butler turned in Alex Greene’s great work down the right. Senan turned provider and we 2-0 up after 7 minutes when his through ball found Alex who beat two defenders and slotted home on the second attempt after a save by the goalkeeper. Alex then got injured on 18 minutes which meant we saw out the game with the 11 on the pitch as we had no other subs. Cashel proved to be a difficult opponent and while we had chances to increase our lead during the rest of the game, we failed to do so. However, the lads saw it through and while Cashel were awarded a penalty in injury time which was missed, we saw it out for a 2-0 victory.
