Although they will probably still have to rely on other results going their way if they are to clinch a promotion spot Clonmel Celtic Reserves recorded a good 5-1 win away to Suirside on Sunday. Celtic were asked for a quick start and took the lead as early as the 3rd minute when Tucker Kennedy reacted quickest in box and slammed home the opener. Suirside to their credit didn’t drop the heads and the rest of the half was tight with Celtic taking a 1-0 lead to the interval. Celtic came out of the blocks very quickly and were 2-0 up on 60 mins through a superb trademark Kyle Kennedy freekick. 3 mins later Kyle turned provider playing in the jet healed Dean McLaughlin to finished smartly in the corner. On the 75th the relentless Eoin Kearney got the goal his performance deserved. Suirside pulled one back on 79 mins through Anthony Condon. But Kearney and Kennedy linked up again brilliant after an excellent assist by Eoin Kearney set up Kyle Kennedy to make it 5-1 and topped of an excellent all round team performance. A big number of candidates today for MOTM but Kearney takes it after running suirside absolutely ragged for 90mins.
