There was disappointment for both our Under 12s and Under 14s on Saturday as neither were able to progress in SFAI National Cup. Both came very close though after big efforts. Despite a Jake Forristal goal putting the Under 14s ahead in the first minute against Tramore AFC the Waterford side fought back to clinch a 2-1 win on a demanding surface in Ferryhouse last Saturday.
The Under 12s came even closer and had one foot in the next round as they were 1-0 up courtesy of Mikey Maguire heading into the final moments of their clash with Peake Villa. However the visitors equalised in the last minute to force extra time. Jack Kealy put Celtic ahead again in extra time before another Villa leveller brought the tie to penalties. Unfortunately Celtic lost on sudden death penalties that ends their interest in this year's National Cup.
