There were mixed fortunes for our Schoolboy teams in the National Cup on Saturday. Our U14s had a tough looking fixture in Wexford away to North End United. Unfortunately the boys were well below their best on the day and exited the competition tamely going down 2-0. It was better news for this season's Under 11s who were competing in the U12 National Cup. They were also handed a tough draw away to Peake Villa. This was an entertaining high intensity end to end tussle in Thurles. Celtic played some good football in a very even game where both teams had chances. The game finished scoreless and it was a quality strike from Celtic's Kyle Ryan in extra time after a good move that decided the tie. Villa piled on the pressure late on but couldn't find the equaliser and Celtic held out. It was a great competitive debut for our Under 11s and they will no doubt be looking forward to the next round.
