Clonmel Celtic maintained their 100% winning record in the TSSDL U14 Premier League with a crucial 1-0 win away to Bansha Celtic yesterday. The game started at a frantic pace with both teams guilty of giving the ball away. Celtic had the better chances but couldn't convert. However with 5 minutes remaining in the first half Celtic got the vital breakthrough. A cross from Harry Roche Nagle came off a Bansha defender and fell to Alex Greene who rifled to the net. Bansha carried more of a threat chasing the game in the second half and had a chance to level on 65 minutes when they were awarded a penalty. However they were denied by Peter Boland who saved magnificently. The game ebbed and flowed with both sides having chances but Celtic saw it out against a good team thanks to some good defending and solid goal keeping from Peter Boland (pictured).
