The World Cup of Irish Schoolboy soccer begins next week when the Kennedy Cup Inter League tournament kicks off in University Limerick on Tuesday. We would like to wish the very best of luck to the South Tipperary team and management who are in Group 8 with Cork, Longford and Cavan/Monaghan.
Clonmel Celtic will have a bigger interest than normal in this year's competition as we have a big representation in the South Tipperary Squad. So well done to the eight players who worked hard and played their part in the preparations and best of luck to all involved next week and enjoy the experience.
We always say to our younger members when they join Celtic that one of their first soccer targets is to try and make the Kennedy Cup Squad so we are delighted that four of the Celtic players involved this year have been part of Celtic since their Academy years.
