Clonmel Celtic wish to announce that Tommy Kiely has been appointed first team manager. Tommy has a long association with the club. He played eight years of Schoolboy football with Celtic (then known at St Olivers Boys) and captained the Youth team that won the Tipperary League and Cup double in 1996. He played his first junior game for the club at the tender age of 16 and has over 26 years experience in local soccer and was a member of last season's junior team. Over the years Tommy has been very busy off the pitch and has completed various coaching courses with the FAI and has gone as far as a UEFA B licence making him one of the most qualified local coaches. He has coached Clonmel Celtic schoolboy teams from U14s to Youths and also managed Burncourt Celtic Juniors for a season before current his role with Clonmel Celtic Junior team. We wish him the very best of luck.
The arrival of Tommy means the departure of Kenny O'Shea who recently informed the club that he wouldn't be putting his name forward for the Junior manager position for next season. I think it is fair to say that Kenny has achieved legendary status within the club for all the success he has brought over his many years involved. We again would like to thank Kenny and also Eddie Doyle and Eric Keane for the time and effort they put in last season.
