A big disappointment for Celtic as they exit the Tipperary Cup after a 3-2 defeat to Peake Villa B this afternoon. Villa hit the front on 35 minutes when their keeper Darren McGuire netted from the spot. Celtic equalised just before the break with a sublime delicate lob from Paul Kennedy to leave it 1-1 at the break. It was much the same in the 2nd period. Celtic had the wind advantage and carried more of a threat. Conor Acheson struck the bar with a fine effort on 60 mins. Villa were always in the game and hit the front again on 72 minutes with a fine finish from Jack Ryan. It was route one for Celtic's equalizer but what a goal it was. Paul Kennedy did excellent to tee up Seanie O'Hara from Ben Clooney's clearance and O'Hara's strike nestled in the corner. 2-2 at full time. Celtic looked the more likely in extra time but were rocked with just 4 minutes left when Adam Garret was on hand to score from close range after keeper Ben Cooney did well to block Eoin O'Dwyer's initial effort. Time ran out for Celtic to respond this time.
