It was probably not what we had envisaged when conjuring up images of summer soccer. Clonmel Celtic Under 12s kicked off their season in the wind and rain away to Shanbally on Saturday going down 2-1. They got an early introduction to the infamous hill in a tough start to their campaign in Clogheen. As well as playing uphill in the first half they also had to contend with playing into a strong wind. They started a little nervously and not surprisingly found themsleves 2-0 down at the break. With the advantage of the elements and the hill in the second half Celtic came roaring back into the tie and a debut goal from Cailum Power meant it was game on. Celtic had still 25 minutes to get something from the game but despite their best efforts couldn't find an equaliser and were disapointed to leave Clogheen pointless after a 2-1 defeat. (See match reports for Adam's thoughts on the game).
