We are happy to announce that we received formal approval this week to proceed with the replacement of our All Weather pitch. The current pitch is over 10 years old and is showing signs of wear and tear. We were successful in our application for a Sports Capital Grant and received provisional approval back in December 2017. Unfortunately during the summer a mapping error regarding the boundary at Clonmel Celtic was discovered and this had to be resolved. This required the involvement of our solicitor, Tipperary County Council, Chief State Solicitors Office and the Property Registration Authority. To be honest it was a tortuous process not helped when patience isn't your greatest virtue. However the legal formalties have finally being completed and work can begin. SIS Pitches were awarded the contract by the club following the procurement process last year and the club will contact SIS shorty to agree a work plan. It is envisaged that it will take 3/4 weeks to complete the works so this will obviously mean some disruption for our teams and people who use the All Weather. After we have been in contact with SIS we will let you know when the All Weather will close for these works. We'd like to thank the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism and Tipperary County Council for their grants that have made this project possible and also everyone who supported our fundraiser we held in 2017 (FAI Nation Draw) to help raise money.
