It wasn't the best of mornings but we had a good turnout nonethelees for our non competitive game workshop that was delivered by Stephen Quinn, FAI Development Officer for South Tipperary last Saturday morning. We had coaches from U7-U11 present and children from our Under 9s and Under 11s helped with the demonstrations and of course their many, many questions and observations! I must say I was very impressed with the kids and how quick they pick things up. As you may be aware the FAI Player Development Plan sees player development as opposed to results as very important for the younger age groups so it's important that all clubs are familiar with the rules at the non-competitive age groups. This can sometimes be difficult with the turnover of coaches at the younger age groups and more parents getting involved every year (which is great to see) so the League decided this year to visit all the clubs and explain the rules. We'd like to thank Stephen for a very good workshop and also thank all the coaches who attended. It's up to the coaches now to put the plan into action!!
