The club held an information meeting at Clonmel Park Hotel last Monday night where club secretary Tony Acheson (who is also TSSDL League secretary) gave details of the up coming Calender Soccer season to Clonmel Celtic coaches. The new 'summer' season will kick off on the 2nd March with the Under 12, 14 and 16 age groups and will run until November. A four week mid summer break is scheduled for late July and early August and it is also envisaged that there will be no fixtures scheduled for the summer bank holiday weekends.
It was also announced at the meeting that Tommy Kiely will take up the role of Schoolboy Coach Programme Co-ordinator. Tommy has attained the UEFA B Coaching qualification and he will use his knowledge and experience to assist all our Schoolboy coaches. Tommy will also oversee the Coach Education Programme as well as ensuring all coaches have the essentail training aids and equipment they need for their training sessions. We wish Tommy the very best in this new role and hope it will be of benefit to him and the club.
