One characteristic of a successful team is that they are difficult to score against and tend to concede very little. Earlier in the season we were praising Kyle Ryan whose impressive scoring rate helped Celtic overcome a very poor start to the season where they lost all four of their opening games. In recent weeks it is Celtic's defensive performances that has helped them sustain a very decent run of form. Celtic have now just conceded one goal in their last 6 games keeping 5 clean sheets in the process. Although the whole team, particularly the defence, has contributed to this impressive statistic I don't think anyone would have an issue if we gave a special mention to goal keeper Ben Cooney who only joined Celtic earlier this season. He has been rock solid in goal and is it any co-incidence that Celtic's only defeat in their last 14 games (2-3 v BT Harps) came when Ben had to be replaced due to an injury early in this tie ?Celtic's impressive defence will no doubt be strongly challenged with some tough games facing in the spring but credit to Ben and the rest of the team for their efforts and work rate over the last few months.
