Clonmel Celtic's interest in the SFAI National Cups ended on Saturday with the elimination of our last remaining team, the Under 13s. They went down to a 4-2 extra time defeat to a classy Tramore AFC. A slow start was to prove costly for Celtic as they looked nervous early on and Tramore deserved their 2-0 interval lead. However Celtic were much improved after the break and really had a go. A Domink Mendal penalty and a Senan O'Shea effort drew Celtic level and extra time was required. However at this level mistakes are punished and Celtic learned this the hard way as a defensive mix up proved costly and Tramore edged in front again. Celtic battled hard but ran out of time with the Waterford outfit adding a fourth late on to run out 4-2 victors. Disappointment for Celtic but a great effort.
