Congratulations to Liam Dalys who were crowned champions of the inaugural Clonmel Celtic Pub League on Saturday night. Their final with Rovers Inn finished 1-1 with Dalys winning on penalties. Also well done to the The Outback who won the Plate on Friday night after an exciting game with Moynihans. This game also went to penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Clonmel Celtic would like to thank all the teams that entered the competition. There was general consensus that it was good to have the Pub League back. The club would like to thank sponsors John Kennedy Motors, Mahers Londis and Darren Ward Jewellers. We would also like to thank Johnny Lyons for organising the referees and of course not forgetting administrator Richie Kiely. Without his hard work there simply wouldn't haven been a Pub League. We hope to do it all again next year where hopefully some more pubs will enter and we will also be aiming for an earlier start, possibly mid June.
