There was a very significant development in Schoolboy soccer in South Tipperary with the news that we will now be moving to summer soccer or Calender Soccer to give it it's correct title. At the AGM of the TSS&DL on Friday 13th July the motion to move to calendar soccer in 2018 / 2019 season was passed.
What this means is that for the start of this season which will kick off in September (SFAI cups commence on the 15th with TSS&DL league kicking off on the 24th) there will in effect be a mini league up to the 30th of November or early December.
The league will then break until Feb/ March 2019 when the full calendar season will kick in and this will run until 30th November (with a break mid season to be determined).
This change will apply to all Clonmel Celtic teams from Academy to Under 14. The move will present challenges for some clubs and may not suit everyone but it's a brave move by the TSSDL and of course an essential part of the FAI Development Plan.
