No JD Cup for Celtic
For the first time in ten years Clonmel Celtic will not be participating in the John Delaney Cup. The competition features teams that finished in the top four in the North and South Tipp leagues and serves as an opener to the new soccer season in South Tipp. Although Celtic finished in joint fourth last season Clonmel Town got the final spot from South Tipp as their head to head results with Celtic last year was better. I don't think Celtic will be too disconsolate about missing out as it's a competition that they never really have done well in. It will also allow them a little bit more flexibility in planning warm up games ahead of the new season.
