Our Last Man Standing Competition started this weekend. We were a little disappointed with the number of entries as we fell well short of our target. Nonetheless we'd like to thank everyone who joined the competition. We would also like to thank our promoters and sellers and in particular our coaches. They already have their hands full trying to manage and coach their teams so we appreciate the effort they put into getting people to join the competition this season. In simple terms fundraising is a pain but if you saw the club's expense sheet last season you would understand why it is necessary for us to run a couple of fundraisers each season though we do try to keep them to a minimum.
Anyway 123 players have made it through to Week 2 with 78 falling in the first week on Man City (25); Leicester (19); Chelsea (17); Crystal Palace (7); West Ham (3); West Brom (2); Liverpool (1); Newcastle (1) and Tottenham (1). A number of players failed to submit their team selection this week and they can count themselves lucky on this occasion as Arsenal were the automatic selection and they therefore make it through to Week 2.
We'll publish fixtures for Week 2 on Thursday night.
