In the end it was all about reaching Round 4 of the FAI Junior Cup and not how they got there. Celtic won't be pleased about conceding three goals to Kilsheelan Utd but you would have to give credit to the Division 2 side who really had a go today. They were probably a little unlucky not to be ahead at the break as the first half finished 1-1. Seanie O'Hara put Celtic ahead on 12 minutes with Evan Comerford equalising for Kilsheelan on the half hour mark. Celtic can thank Brian Sweeney who denied Kilsheelan an interval lead with a couple of fine saves. Celtic improved in the second half and got a lucky break on 47 minutes when a Kilsheelan defender diverted a cross into his own net. Shortly afterwards Jack Purcell finished well to put Celtic 3-1 up. Evan McGuire stretched the lead before Evan Comerford reduced the deficit. Evan McGuire restored Celtic's three goal lead before Mark Heffernan got the final score of the day that sees Celtic advance to Round 4 on a 5-3 scoreline.
